Project Bannister

Bannister is the provider of long-term supported and residential living facilities for adults with learning disabilities, such as intellectual disability, autism, mental health diagnosis and acquired brain injuries with complex behavioural needs.

Structural changes in the way people with severe learning disabilities are cared for, as well as underlying population growth, are driving the need for community services which Bannister offers. This niche sector of the healthcare market has high barriers to entry characterised by stringent and increasing regulatory requirements, need to recruit, train and retain high quality staff, requirements for specific facility designs, strong reputation and commissioner relationships and a high degree of clinical and industry expertise. The funding environment for this specialised sector is stable with a positive outlook.

The Fund provided a senior loan facility to a specialist healthcare provider acquiring Bannister. The loan is secured by a diversified portfolio of residential and supported living facilities.
